HOMEBOYFounded against the backdrop of skate vibes back in 1988, Homeboy soon made a name for itself as a brand of clothing that was a “must-have” for these cool street heroes. Casual styles that interpreted other sports in a revolutionary way became a trademark, not only for skaters and BMX cyclists but also for many musicians. Die Fantastischen 4, Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt, MarcSpoon and Schwester S. were among the first artists to discover Homeboy. Thus, completely intuitively, Homeboy started sponsoring athletes, musicians and other artists in the same way that was common practice in the skateboard scene.Over the years, a range of other artists of all genres and colors followed, such as Cypress Hill, CrazyTown, Rage against the Machine and Mob Deep, as well as Old Dirty Bastard from the notorious Wu Tang Clan. Homeboy worked together with artists like Jeff Soto, Dave Kinsey, Adam Pommier, Ben Tour and Caia Koopman, paving the way for this form of street art to reach Europe at a very early stage.
