H&M: uncovering future trends at interfilière paris

H&M: uncovering future trends at interfilière paris A team dedicated to lingerie innovation at H&M At this edition of Interfilière Paris, held alongside Who’s Next, H&M's lingerie team, comprised of Natasha (designer), Lisa (designer), Rita (material sourcing), and Lariza (product development), attended the event with a clear objective: to explore future developments in lacework, discover and meet new suppliers, while strengthening pre-existing business relationships. "We all work for the lingerie team," Natasha explains.

During their visit through Interfilière Paris, their focus was on discovering the current trends in fabrics and colours, with a particular interest in lace textures and designs. “It’s a great opportunity to meet our suppliers face-to-face,” she emphasises, highlighting the importance of human relationships in their work process.

A focus on key suppliers

Among the suppliers they met were TIAM, TIAN HAI, and XIAMEN, with whom the team already has strong relationships. The event allowed them to solidify these partnerships and explore the overall offering in the lingerie sector. “We’re looking to see how the offerings are evolving and to explore the current trends in the intimate wear industry,” Lisa explains. For Rita, who has been attending this event for several years, this edition provided a more focused approach: “The selection of suppliers is smaller than before but more selective, allowing us to focus on the essentials.”
The trend forum led by Jos Berry also enriched their experience. “This exploration of current and future trends through the conferences brought real added value to the whole event,” she adds.

An essential human experience

With the pandemic having significantly reduced international travel, this edition of Interfilière Paris, alongside Who’s Next, was crucial for reconnecting with suppliers in person. “We haven’t travelled for a long time due to Covid, so these human interactions are indispensable,” Lariza shares. Beyond simply viewing the selections and innovative offerings from the exhibiting suppliers, these exchanges help strengthen the essential dynamics of their work processes.
The team expressed satisfaction with the efficiency and focus on their specific needs. “This is the only time we can really see the full collection from our suppliers,” Lisa says, underlining the unique value this event offers compared to remote exchanges.

Perspectives for continued innovation

H&M views this event as a strategic opportunity to discover the latest innovations in lace, a key element in their lingerie collection. Natasha clarifies: “Our main motivation is to see the fabrics, and we are particularly interested in lace.” This exploration of lace textures and designs enables the team to continue innovating in their regular offerings, rather than following a seasonal collection calendar.

For the H&M team, Interfilière Paris and Who’s Next remain a must-attend event in the creative industries calendar. “This is where we find most lace innovations, which is why it’s a key event for us,” Natasha concludes. The event not only offers the chance to discover new business solutions but also reaffirms strong partnerships, all within an atmosphere where creativity and collaboration take centre stage.
