Amid the vibrant cultural scene of Barcelona, one brand stands out for its dedication to reinventing the bodysuit as a staple in women's wardrobes: The Bodysuit of Barcelona. Born from a fusion of Italian and Spanish craftsmanship, this lingerie house aims to modernise the timeless bodysuit, making it as versatile as it is elegant.

For their debut appearance at the Who’s Next trade show on Curve Paris, the brand’s creator explains: “We want to restore the bodysuit to its rightful place in the wardrobe – a piece that is both practical and refined, suitable for a yoga session or a more formal occasion.” This approach seeks to strike a balance between timeless basics and high-quality materials, while maintaining a deep connection with local craftsmanship.

From luxurious fabrics to innovative, eco-friendly designs

At the heart of the collection presented at this edition is the “Body Tennis”, a standout piece with adaptable lines, perfect for any season. This bodysuit is crafted from organic cotton and certified viscose, with materials exclusively sourced from Italy. “We work only with suppliers renowned for their expertise and commitment to eco-friendly standards. Each piece is handmade in Barcelona by family-run workshops, ensuring impeccable quality and a reduced environmental impact.” The brand is committed to a circular production model, prioritising proximity and transparency throughout its entire value chain.

New inspirations and perspectives…

For The Bodysuit of Barcelona, the Who’s Next and Curve Paris shows represent a unique opportunity to gain international exposure, especially in the Northern European markets. “We were curious to see how our positioning between lingerie and ready-to-wear would be received,” Nuria, the creator, shares. Their participation was driven by this hybrid concept. “What’s exciting here is the diversity of sectors present. It’s a true source of inspiration and exchange, enabling us to expand our network, find buyers, or agents to represent us in promising markets.” This first experience also brought about meaningful encounters and promising collaboration prospects with independent boutiques.

While The Bodysuit of Barcelona is rooted in artisanal and traditional methods, innovation also plays a crucial role in their creative process. “We are constantly exploring new materials and production techniques, all while staying true to a timeless aesthetic,” explains the designer. Their mission: to evolve the bodysuit while honouring its classic forms. Beyond technical innovation, the brand places femininity and self-confidence at the core of its identity. “Our bodysuits are designed to flatter all body types, thanks to stretch fabrics that guarantee comfort and equality. The goal is to empower women to feel confident, to fully embrace their identity, their shapes, and their individuality.”

This first edition has confirmed The Bodysuit of Barcelona’s future ambitions: to combine tradition and modernity, offering pieces that are practical, elegant, and sustainable, to accompany women in every facet of their daily lives.
